Pianist Kimball Gallagher has risen to prominence as one of the most dynamic, multifaceted artists currently on the circuit. His sensitive insights at the keyboard, coupled with his singular entrepreneurial sensibilities, have enabled him to explore a broad scope of creative endeavors.
Gallagher has been hailed by critics as a “dynamo,” whose performance was “sunlit and rapturous” and “came like a lightening bolt…” Following his sold-out debut at Carnegie Hall in 2008, recent seasons have taken Gallagher on-tour throughout the United States, Europe and Central America, to include performances in the Czech Republic, Poland, Tunisia and Panama. Highlights of Gallagher’s 2009 Season include his debut performance in the distinguished Hartford Symphony Sunday Serenade Series. His live performances are regularly broadcasted on WQXR in New York.
In 2005, Gallagher spearheaded a wildly successful fundraising campaign which led to the inception of his company, PIANOKEY, which provides concert experiences in private homes and alternate venues. His visionary approach to the business of music has earned Gallagher a loyal following, through which he has cultivated a diverse creative network throughout the United States. PIANOKEY’s 88-Key Concert Tour will conclude with a celebration concert at Carnegie Hall in 2012.
A native of Boston, Kimball Gallagher earned his undergraduate degree at Rice University in the studio of Jeanne Kierman-Fischer, and he later finished his Masters degree as a pupil of Robert MacDonald at The Juilliard School. He enjoys composing, writing and exploring various musical genres. He lives in New York City.
